Welcome to the 2024 O'pen Skiff North Americans hosted by Augusta Sailing Club on the beautiful Clarks Hill Lake. It will be a fun-filled weekend with three days of racing, nightly activities, fantastic food, great camping, and true southern hospitality. We look forward to seeing you there!
Registration
Registration is open to all ages. The fleet comprises of three divisions:

U12 Division: Competitors born January 1st, 2013 or after

U15 Division: Competitors born January 1st, 2010 or after

Open Division: Competitors 15 years old and above
Registration fees- $175 if registered by March 31st. Increases to $200 on April 1st. (Includes registrant's meals and a shirt if registered by March 31st.)
Charter Boats
A limited number of Charter Boats are available from O’pen Skiff USA on a first come/first serve basis. Please contact Nevin Sayre at nsayre@aol.com as soon as possible if you think you may need a charter boat, and we’ll get you on the preliminary list. All boats come complete and ready to sail and have fun, with the One Design 4.5m sail. Charter reservations will have final confirmation only when charter fee is paid and the sailor is registered for the event. Here are the reservation options:
- Charter complete O’pen Skiff for North Americans (April 17-21) - $195.
- Purchase brand new O’pen Skiff, delivered to Augusta Sailing Club for the event, for $2,999. No shipping fee or additional charter fees. You take ownership of the boat on delivery. Must be registered for 2024 North Americans to take advantage of this special opportunity.
The charter boat deadline for North Americans is likely March 30, 2024, but we may run out
well before then. Charter boats are available for sale at substantial discount following the event by advance reservation. Additional fleet discounts are available. Contact nsayre@aol.com.
Shirts
All skippers that register before April 1st will receive a free regatta t-shirt. Additional shirts may be purchased (pre-order only) at the online storefront. Last day to order shirts is March 31, 2024. Online Storefront
Meals
All meals are included for each regatta registrant. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner starting Thursday evening, April 18th through the Award's Party Sunday afternoon. Additional meals for family and friends may be pre-ordered at the online storefront up until 12pm on Monday, April 15th. Full meal packages are available.
- Thursday Night Welcome Party- burgers and brats with sailor's fixins and German Potato Salad.
- Friday Night "South of the Border" Party- Steak, shrimp, and veggie fajitas with rice and black beans, queso, salsa, and chips.
- Saturday "Hot Southern Nights" BBQ- Smoked pulled pork, brussels sprouts slaw, baked mac-n-cheese, and jalapeno cornbread.
Camping/Accommodations
We encourage all to spend the weekend camping. This highlight to the weekend will be a fun family experience and is in perfect synchronicity of the famous O'pen Skiff vibe. It will also make it easy to be a part of all the fun and social activities throughout the weekend. ASC has plenty of space to set up a tent; no reservation needed. Great locations include the East Point Beach area, the grassy spots in front of the cabins along the water front, the grassy areas near the east point pavilion, and the grassy lot above the clubhouse parking lot. For those of you with campers, we will have limited availability; $25/night with hookups. Reservations will open on January 1, 2024. Email Slegg9876@bellsouth.net if you would like a camper spot. You can also check Wildwood Campground and Mistletoe State Park for site availability. In addition, the following hotels are offering discounted rates for attendees:
Appropriate sailing gear for the water temperature and air temperature will be required for all sailors. Depending on the conditions, wetsuits may be required. Protective helmets and Coast Guard approved life jackets are required. Forward WIP is one option that makes sailing specific helmets at https://www.murrays.com/category/g-sh/. Travel
The closest airport is the Augusta Regional Airport (AGS). Another option is Atlanta International (ATL), which is a two hour drive.
Pets
Please refrain from bringing pets (except certified service dogs). Pets are not permitted on the beach or around club buildings. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Coach Boats and Support Vessels
Please check-in at the clubhouse for more details. The proper use of safety engine cut-off lanyards are required while operating powerboats. We encourage everone on the water to wear an appropriate US Coast Guard approved PFD.
Refunds
Meals and shirts are not available for refunds after April 14th.
Clean Regatta
The ASC juniors have formed a "green" team with the goal of making this a clean regatta. All registrants and guests are asked to bring a reusable water bottle. Check out our Green Team website to learn more about our sustainability efforts.
